The surrounding area: 
Airlie Arms is situated in Kirriemuir, an idyllic town surrounded by the Angus glens. Kirriemuir is a lovely little town with lots of charming little shops and fabulous small streets and wynds.
JM Barrie was born in Kirriemuir, and his birthplace is now a popular museum to celebrate his life and work.
The Camera Obscura is also a popular attraction, which offers spectacular views of the surrounding area.
The glens are the ideal place for hill walkers, and there's also an 18 hole golf course. Fishing and hunting is also a massive attraction for people all over the world.

 Pict stone in Aberlemno (on the way to Brechin from Forfar) and Brechin Round Tower, about 25 minutes away by car.
 Bridge of Dun, 30 minutes away by car, and the glorious Drummond Castle Gardens, 1 and a half hours drive away.
 The magnificent Dunnottar Castle, about an hours drive, and the Forth Rail Bridge, just under 2 hours drive from Kirriemuir.
 Montrose lighthouse, about 40 minutes away by car, and then a scenic walk for about half an hour to reach the lighthouse. Dundee park, ideal for a stroll after having been shopping on their busy high street and two large shopping centres. Half an hours drive away.
 The magical Glamis Castle, just 10 miutes drive away. Statue at Stirling Castle, with the Wallace Monument in the background, about an hour and a half away by car.
